4. IU will add to existing academic and staff leadership development programs that identify and prepare individuals for leadership positions and offer advancement in leadership career paths at IU.


  • IU continues to participate in the Big Ten Academic Alliance leadership initiative, the Academic Leadership Program (ALP). Established in 1989, this intensive experience develops leadership and managerial skills of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional ability and academic promise. Many of the programs’ more than 1,500 fellows have gone on to serve with distinction as college presidents, provosts, and deans.
  • Indiana University, across all campuses, has held targeted workshops for advising administrators, including the Advising Leadership Institute (with the Human Resources Organizational Development team).
