Educational Quality includes measures derived from the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). NSSE is a 39-question survey that is administered to freshmen and seniors on a three year cycle. The survey reports on ten Engagement Indicators (EI) that have been empirically demonstrated to correlate with student learning. They include experiences and behaviors such as student-faculty interaction, reflective and interactive learning, and discussions with diverse others. The EIs have been rigorously tested quantitatively and qualitatively over many years.
